IV. application of pigments in water-based inks

some companies have studied the effects of pH value and isopropanol on ink viscosity, color strength and storage stability of commonly used color pigments in water-based acrylic acid system. The amount of pigment in the ink is 8%. Apply - 4 cup to measure the viscosity. The storage stability is to seal the ink in a bottle and measure the change of its viscosity after placing it at 50 ℃ for a week

1. Blue pigment

(1) pigment blue 15 (p.b.15, phthalocyanine blue)

first, we discuss bare phthalocyanine blue (p.b.15:3) and anti flocculation hydrophilic phthalocyanine blue (p.b.15:4). It can be seen from figure 8 that if the ink does not contain isopropyl alcohol, the viscosity value under different pH values does not differ much, but the viscosity value of hydrophilic phthalocyanine blue slightly increases after storage at 50 ℃. All parties of the electronic universal testing machine should strengthen mutual cooperation. After adding isopropanol, the situation is very different, as shown in Figure 9. With the increase of pH value, the viscosity value increases. After storage at 50 ℃, the viscosity value also increases. When pH = 9, it shows the worst storage stability

if the poor fluidity of the ink is caused by the good dispersion of the pigment, that is, the high color intensity, then the high viscosity value need not be considered a disadvantage. Because if the viscosity reaches the same value, although China's machinery products have a certain international comparative advantage, they need to be diluted to the same color intensity, resulting in reduced costs. It can be seen from Figure 10 that the color intensity of hydrophilic phthalocyanine blue is slightly higher and is not affected by pH value. According to figure 11, when the pH value is 8 and 8.5, the color intensity of the two pigments is the same, while when the pH value is in a higher range, hydrophilic phthalocyanine blue shows superiority. After storage at 50 ℃, the color intensity of the two pigments is almost unchanged

ink without isopropyl alcohol has low viscosity and is not affected by pH value. After storage, the viscosity value does not change and the color intensity is low

for water-based inks containing isopropanol, the viscosity increases with the increase of pH value. When pH = 9.5, the viscosity value is the highest, and when pH value is 8.5 ~ 9, the storage stability is poor. The color intensity is high. When pH = 8.5, it has the highest color intensity. After storage at 50 ℃, the ink color intensity changes little, as shown in Figure 12 and figure 13

it can be concluded that the pigment has the best fluidity, high color intensity and color clarity when pH = 8.5

(3) pigment blue 61 (P.B, 61 radiant blue)

the viscosity, color strength and storage stability of water-based ink without isopropanol are similar to pigment blue 1

inks containing isopropanol get the highest color intensity and lower viscosity at the lowest pH value. With the increase of pH value, the color intensity decreases. P a power battery executive said: the decline in subsidies puts vehicle enterprises under great pressure. When the H value is 8.5 ~ 9.5, the storage stability is poor. After storage at 50 ℃, the color intensity decreases by more than 10%. See Figure 14 and Figure 15. It can be considered that the performance of the pigment is acceptable in the range of pH = 8 ~ 8.5
